Triangles and Glitter

Hello everyone! How have you been doing? In this tutorial I will tell you how to make these beautiful yet simple nail art. What I've discovered when doing this nail art, is that you want your glitter nail polish to be thin. A bit thicker glitter nail polish is really irritating because it takes a really long time for the thick amount to dry and it's really hard to get a sharp triangle. All the products that have been used for these two nail art designs, will be listed below the page. We will start with the red one.

Step 1 Clean palette: Start with clean nails, no old nail polish smudges.

Step 2 Base coat: Apply a base coat. This will prevent your nails from turning yellow. Especially if you wear bright colours.

Step 3 Main colour: Apply the red/orange colour as main colour for your nail art design.

Step 4 Triangle and top coat: Apply the gold glitter in a triangle shape on the top of the nail. Now for this you can apply nail art tape, this wil make it much easier for it to be a sharp triangle. However I dit not use nail art tape. I applied a big amount of glitter nail polish and right away I shaped it into a triangle with the nail polish brush. With this technique it's not going to be as sharp as with the tape, but this is quicker. If you are doing this the way that I did, you want to make sure that for the top of the triangle there is the least amount of nail polish. This will give it a sharp effect. On the left is a picture of how it will look with nail art tape, you can also use this as a guide line. And on the right the end result. And ofcourse apply a top coat so you can enjoy a long lasting nail art design.

Now let's start with the gold and blue glitter triangle nail art. This one is a little bit more tricky. This is because the triangle is on the bottom which means you can't drag the line off the nail. This means that sharpening the triangle is more difficult. Here we go.

The first two steps are the same as the previous nail art.

Step 1 Clean palette: Remove all the old nail polish.

Step 2  Base coat: Apply a base coat. This will prevent your nails from turning yellow. Especially if you wear bright colours.

Step 3: Main colour: Apply the gold nail polish as the main colour for this nail art.

Step 4 Triangle and top coat: Apply the blue glitter at the bottom of the nail. Now for this you can also use nail art tape. I did not do this because of the time. This is a bit faster. You want to get a splatter of nail polish glitter at the bottom. Than drag it out. Make sure that the top of the triangle is thin. Otherwise it will not be a sharp triangle top and it would look like a circle not a triangle. If you totally ruined the triangle, DON'T WORRY! Let it dry for a little bit and shape it into a triangle with your nail or a toothpick. You can do this because it is still sticky. But with doing this you will probably ruin the main colour, so you do need retouch this. When you are done with the triangles, apply your top coat.
